Google Makes it Simple to Move Your Google Videos to Youtube
Last week, Google notified Google Video users that starting April 29 videos would no longer be available for playback and gave them until May 13 to download their videos hosted on the platform.
A lot of people did not react well to the news as they were given a short period of time to download the content so the search giant decided to ensure none of the Google Video users will lose their content.
On Friday, Google announced that it eliminated the April 29 deadline saying that videos will remain accessible on Google Video. Google said it is also working on developing an easier way to automatically transfer your videos to YouTube.
“We’ve created an “Upload Videos to YouTube” option on the Google Video status page. To do this, you’ll need to have a YouTube account associated with your Google Video account. Before doing this you should read YouTube’s Terms of Use and Copyright. If you choose this option, we’ll do our best to ensure your existing Google Video links continue to function,” Mark Dochtermann, Google’s Engineering Manager wrote in a blog post.
Dochtermann reminded users that Google Video team is now concentrated on resolving the challenging issues of video search and said he hopes that newly introduced improvements will help make the transition from Google Video to another video hosting service easier for the millions of people around the globe who used Google Video to create and share videos.
