DescriptionWe're looking for a senior product manager self-starter who is capable of owning key projects as an individual contributor and rallying resources across company departments. You'll work with our executives, internal teams and customers to perform qualitative and quantitative research, define requirements and solutions and otherwise guide our product roadmap, help establish key product usage metrics and help us deliver an amazing user experience. You will report to the VP of Product Engineering.
Along with browsers, PDF readers are the only other desktop software category with over one billion global users. Almost everyone uses them yet we've not seen much innovation over the years. With the companies millions of free users and hundreds of thousands of enterprise users, you will get to do just that - first seek to understand opportunities and then propose innovations that will make millions of people more productive. It gets even better. PDF desktop software is where we started but our growing San Francisco engineering team is poised to unveil major innovations in the larger document management space. What you'll be doing:

- you'll act as a product manager (product owner and customer champion), not a project or release manager but you're expected to follow up on your recommendations and help implement them
- work independently with input from marketing, product and engineering executives who will be the main consumers of your work output
- sound checking company vision through qualitative and quantitative research (customer interviews, survey groups, data analysis, competitive intelligence)
- delivering summaries of research to executives and distilling them into actionable roadmap items
- some of the projects you'll be in charge of include
- Recommending usability improvements based on user research and feedback
- Recommending enterprise program improvements through understanding how enterprise customers purchase, deploy and use the product, performing win/loss analysis, researching broader market trends
- Inspiring longer term product vision
- Vertical product offering definition and market segmentation by developing customer and user persona definition and defining vertical vs horizontal requirements

What we're looking for:

- a partner in revolutionizing document management through improved product experience
- passion and unrelenting drive for delivering an amazing user experience
- freemium product management experience with both desktop and web/SaaS products
- 5+ years of product management experience
- sql/business intelligence experience
- start-up experience and ability to multi task, define your own role and help wherever necessary
- someone who can help distill the vision into a working prototype and then evolve that to a product serving millions (writing specs, wire framing, simple HTML/Photoshop/Powerpoint)
- ability to move fast and distinguish signal from noise in everyday work life
- extensive experience with agile development
- experience with metric-informed approach to improving overall product experience

Traits that will distinguish the ultimate candidate:

- experience with a wide array of file/document management software
- has used documents to communicate on a daily basis and is a user of Dropbox, Google Docs, box.net, Evernote, or similar
- product management experience with both consumer and enterprise productivity software
- knowledge of PDF software and the PDF software market in general
