
This holiday season is set to become the biggest so far in terms of online spending, with $18.7 billion spent to date, up 15% vs. the comparable period last year. On Cyber Monday alone, online shoppers spent $1.25 billion making it the heaviest online shopping day in history. Two other days in the past week also eclipsed the $1 billion mark; Tuesday reached $1.12 billion while Wednesday reached $1.03 billion helping the total week’s online spending to hit $6 billion, according to market research firm comScore.





Online Holiday Spending Reaches Record $35.3 Billion: comScore
comScore has released a report on U.S. online holiday spending for the holiday season-to-date, and revealed that consumers spent record $35.3 billion online, up 15% from the same period last year. During the most recent week ended December 25th, consumers spent $2.8 billion, a 16% increase versus the same week in 2010.
